Finally, my new project Stochastic Design had the chance to meet up IRL to jam a bit Friday night, after almost half a year of spurious and remote collaboration. After the mandatory cup of tea, and a bit of pondering how to rig things, we packed up – and found that the power supply for my sound card was missing. Cue 1 hour of fruitless search through rooms, cabinets, boxes and finally storage rooms, until we settled for another sound card, and got on with it. Gear included twin synced laptops running Ableton Live Suite and peripherals (BCR2000, MicroKorg, padKontrol, guitar). It’s a really fun way to build up a groove bottom up and improvizing over it.
Nothing amazing result-wise, but a positive start on this experiment.
